King was started in June of 2010 to deal with the drastic changes in economic
conditions in this country since the turn of the century. The company founder
has been a principal in a family owned corrugated manufacturing company for
over 40 years. He has extensive experience in the corrugated industry and
is a well known expert in computer aided structural and graphic design of
packaging.
The thousands of small to medium size manufacturers across this country who were customers of this business have been steadily disappearing over this timeframe. This attrition has accelerated since the 2008 banking fiasco. It is our feeling the individual customization of packaging and design capabilities, which were the essence of our family business, can no longer be justified. Most of the "things" that we used to supply packaging for are now manufactured offshore. Very little is being done to realistically stimulate the rebirth of these small and middle size companies. We do however have tremendous faith in the strength and resilience of the American society.
To that end, we have formed this new entity. Box King is focused on streamlined operations, low overhead, large and varied inventory, and of course, low cost. Rather than manufacture everything in house as the prior company did, Box King has joined with other companies with similar interests around the country to buy centrally and ship from a highly efficient warehouse facility. We sincerely hope that this approach will provide the high level of service and the cost effective products that our customers deserve.
